My Story

I first discovered yoga during my final year at university. At the time I was searching for something that would help manage the stress I was under while completing my Masters. I didn’t know it at the time, but that first yoga class would eventually change the trajectory of my life.

Since then yoga has been a refuge, a gradual letting go of self-judgment and a slow softening into self acceptance, compassion and kindness. My yoga practice helps keep me grounded and centred in a fast-paced world. It allows me to get out of my head, especially when my anxiety kicks in, and reminds me to live in the present moment.

Yoga has taught me how to slow down, connect with my breath; the essence of who I am, and find balance.

With over 500 hours of training now under my belt, most of which has been at triyoga in London, I am eternally grateful to all the teachers who have supported me on this path. My most influential teacher being Anna Ashby, whom I have practiced and studied with for many years. Anna ignited my love of restorative yoga, which led me to seek softer practices that focus on nervous system health and relaxation. My other notable teacher is Richard Rosen, who’s knowledge of pranayama (breath work) is unparalleled.

More recently I have sought to deepen my knowledge and expertise in Mindfulness. The covid-19 pandemic amplified the importance of mental health, not only on a personal level but globally too. Having a daily meditation practice has been a lifeline during such turbulent and uncertain times. The practice of mindfulness is a reminder to live in the present moment and let go of thinking about the past or worry about the future.
